Mike Long, Charlotte NC, has been in the investment business since 1974 and has been focusing on hedging and short selling since 1990. He graduated from Washington and Lee University with a degree in economics, and then founded the first managed futures department at Shearson, where he was a Director of Hayden Commodities. He later worked for Millburn Partners as Director of Trading where he became involved with alternative investments. He has written numerous articles about short selling and the short interest issue, for various publications
including Barrons (where he first hypothesized that heavily shorted stocks underperform the market) The Financial Times Global Guide to Investment, and the Encyclopedia Britannica.
Mike is actively involved in the fields of competitive intelligence, library science and investigative journalism. He has experience with Freedom of Information Act requests, maintains good contacts with regulators and class action attorneys and has undergone training in elicitation technique. He is responsible for the bulk of the investigative work, fact checking,
and client contact. |
